I have checked and adjusted the lower fuel line on the tank several times since with no noticeable difference, i checked the fuel level visually the other day and thats when i noticed the filter basket on the return line which doesnt make much sense, i just cant find a diagram to show the fuel line arrangement or anyone with a similar model locally that i can check. Like any machine, you can find some serious faults in your loader machine too. It is a fairly common problem on 1000 series Perkins. Thanks for the reply, Yes the machine was running ok when i first purchased, but suspect the issue may have always been there just not as bad, when i first noticed it i went over all the lines, checked everything, all seemed fine, i dumped the fuel out of the lines cleaned out the little mesh filters where ever i found one, checked all the fitting were tight, primed the fuel system and still had the issue, i then retightened the lower fuel line out of the bottom of the tank which seemed to fix the issue completely and it was running better then ever, but i also topped up the fuel at the same time so figured it might be have had something to do with it as the problem came back a few weeks later when i let the fuel run down to less then half a tank again, i figured i would run it a bit longer to use up some of the fuel in the tank as it was still running ok just not pulling up hills well, as the level got lower the issue has become much worse. Jcb 3cx wont drive in forwaord but will in reverse, also just bought a prts book which doesnt have have part no.s next - Answered by a verified Technician. laich said: It sounds ,as though the bush, in the idler gear of the engine, has gone.
